The lazy river at Discovery Cove — officially called the Wind-Away River — is a signature water feature that lets guests float or drift through a lush, tropical setting on gentle currents.

• Relaxing but scenic: You’ll float through a scenic, meandering river that winds past sandy beaches, waterfalls, dense greenery, and even through parts of the Explorer’s Aviary with tropical birds overhead — all in clear, warm water.
• Naturalistic environment: The landscaping and theming are designed to give a tropical island feel with underwater caves, gentle cascades, and shaded stretches that change the ambience as you go.
• Floating options: Complimentary flotation devices like life jackets are available, and many guests also use pool noodles or simply swim/float without gear.
• Approximately 1,400–1,500 feet long: That equates to about a quarter-mile of winding waterway to explore.
